Gold-Vision 7 is considered a retired version due to core technologies which are unsupported over which we have no control, this provides a security risk for your Gold-Vision database if you are currently using it.
Gold-Vision 8 includes modern security controls and a much improved user interface and integrations.
Please get in touch with us on firstname.lastname@example.org should you wish to discuss your upgrade.
Key retirement areas for Gold-Vision 7 product are:
- ActiveX Controls are used for a number of features, used in combination with Internet Explorer. IE11 has been dropped by Microsoft during June 2022. These features will expire.
- Security & Authentication – Gold-Vision 7 has 3.5 and 4.5 .net framework embedded. The last revision for 4.5 was April 2022. Importantly, Microsoft are no longer providing security patches for the framework exposing a potential security vulnerability.
- Integration and authentication has moved to Social Authentication tokens and the loss of Basic Auth (and to an extent Windows Auth) as a third-party validation method. This will impact the current Gold-Vision mail-scanning as their will be a removal of support for basic authentication protocols from 1st October 2022.
